Here are some of my favorite links (in alphabetical order).  Some are galleries, some are vendors, some are artists.  Please let me know what you think, and if you have any recommendations of your own!  Thanks.  Kim

Balanced Heart Gems and Jewelry                www.balancedheartgems-jewelry.com
Balanced Heart is fast becoming my favorite place to find unique and beautiful custom stones for my jewelry.  They have an amazing feel for color and shape in stone that really appeals to me and compliments my style.

The Bead Cottage
This is a friendly, knowledgeable place to go for beading information.  Located just west of Lake Geneva in Williams Bay, owner/manager Bonnie can help you with any step in the beading process.  Watch for information about a website in the near future!  In the meantime, you can contact Bonnie via the following email:   beadcottage1957@sbcglobal.net

Betsy Bowen Studio                                                         www.woodcut.com
This is Betsy's working studio and gallery.  You can see the presses where she creates her gorgeous woodcut prints, and the space she works in.  She also opens her studio to become gallery space for other local artists as well as for specific events, including her annual invitational "Spring Art Underground at the Old Playhouse", which I was fortunate enough to be a part of in 2008.

Dan Connelly - Metals Arts                                             www.danconnelly.com
Dan and I were graduate students together.  His sensitivity and incredible sense of humor create some very priceless and moving images in metal.  Check his website for information on current exhibits.

DeCraene Studios Handmade Pottery                        www.decraenestudios.com
Cathlene and I were students together from the beginning.  Her pottery style is very unique, and beautiful Cathlene also teaches pottery, sharing her skills with others, and is active in the local Clayworkers Guild.

DeKalb Gallery                                                             www.dekalbgallery.com
Owned and operated by fellow alum Dan Grych, the DeKalb Gallery has been a staunch supporter of the arts as well as art students.  Unfortunately, Dan is leaving us for the warmer climate of the southwest.  His storefront gallery is now closed, but he continues to maintain  DeKalb Gallery through a digital gallery/website. Please continue to visit the gallery via the link listed.  Dan is also a very talented photographer, and has taken the images of my work from the very beginning.  I will miss him greatly.

Grand Marais Art Colony                                         www.grandmaraisartcolony.org
Situated on the hill overlooking the town of Grand Marais and the north shore of Lake Superior, this organization is dedicated to the arts and the artist.  It offers gallery space, private studios, as well as a working print studio, ceramics studio, and glass studio, and plans to expand to include a metals studio.  The Grand Marais Art Colony offers a variety of classes throughout the year to feed the artist in you.

Krikawa Jewelry Design                                                     www.krikawa.com
A friend and former fellow metals student, Kristy Smith, works with this fabulous group of artisans in Tucson, Arizona.  Krikawa studios specialize in using Mokume metals, and are award winning designers.  My friend Kristy brings her expertise in hand engraving to their designs.

Last Chance Gallery                                                     www.lastchancefab.com
Last Chance Gallery is located on the beautiful north shore of Lake Superior in Lutsen, Minnesota just south of Grand Marais.  Tom is a metal sculptor, and his studio is on the premises.  His amazing sculpture is displayed in the gardens on the grounds (as well as around the country).  Marcia has an eye for incredible art, and has designed a wonderful space in which to display it.

Old Courthouse Art Center                                 www.oldcourthouseartcenter.com
Located on the historic (and famous) square in Woodstock, Illinois, (remember the movie "Groundhog Day"?) the Old Courthouse Art Center is home to a gallery and fine art gift shop.  Supporting the arts is their priority, and the Art Center is home to the annual "Women's Works" juried show every spring which brings in artists from around the country.

Patricia Lynn Designs Custom Jewelry                      www.patricialynndesigns.com
Patricia has been designing jewelry for some time now, and has recently become a student of mine to expand her range.  Her style has a unique, subtly earthy feel, and she has an amazing gift for patina on metal.  Visit her website for information on where she is exhibiting now.

A Pirates Treasure Custom Jewelry                           www.apiratestreasure.com
I was introduced to A Pirates Treasure several years ago as a graduate student who was hired to work on a rush custom commission.  I've been with them ever since!  With over 30 years of goldsmithing experience, there's nothing this crew can't do!

Reactive Metals                                                           www.reactivemetals.com
A great source for specialized metals, such as Mokume, and several Japanese alloys.  They also carry a selection of textured metal cast sheets, and the tools and materials needed for anodized (electrically colored) metal.

The Red Pony Gallery                                              www.redponyfurniture.com
The Red Pony is a unique shop in the heart of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin that features an eclectic mix of silks, jewelry and accessories, as well as heirloom furnishings circa 1850-1920 British Raj.  I am pleased to be one of their newest local artists!

Rich Day Enterprises                                                       www.redayent.com
Rich's love of stones is his inspiration and his passion.  For several years now he has offered a variety of cut stones to me and my students for use in our work.  Affectionately known as "the Stone Guy", my students look forward to his visits each semester, and gleefully browse through the amazing variety he offers.

Society of North American Goldsmiths                         www.snagmetalsmith.org
This is the heavy-hitter in the metals community.  SNAG offers many resources to it's members including access to their extensive library, a monthly newsletter and Metalsmith magazine.  Their yearly conference is something that every metal/jewelry artist should attend at least once.

Chicago Metal Arts Guild                                        www.chicagometalartsguild.org
This is a great local organization of metal and jewelry artists in the greater Chicagoland area.  They put out a quarterly newsletter, as well as providing great networking opportunities.  They also offer several workshops each year with nationally and internationally known metal and jewelry artists for an incredibly reasonable price.
